Network Administrator (Local and Remote ASP)

We are seeking a mid-level to senior Network Administrator with knowledge of SQL to support our local and ASP environment. Install, setup, and maintain LOCAL and Remote Networks. Perform a variety of maintenance, evaluation, installation, and training tasks to ensure LAN performance meets company and user requirements. This position reports to the VP IT/Web Development.

Responsibilities:


  • Maintain and repair MS Windows 2003/Windows 2008 Server-based IT systems. Work in person and remotely to diagnose and resolve both emergency and lingering problems related to availability, security, throughput, connectivity, and general capability.

  • Install, setup and validate Microsoft Windows-based program servers and .NET servers. Set up and integrate Microsoft Windows 2000/2003/2008 Servers, MS Windows XP, MS Windows Vista, and Windows 7 workstation environments. Setup and analyze various network utilities and application programs.

  • Monitor and maintain a load-balanced Windows web server farm, in order to achieve performance requirements for a hosted web application.

  • Support and manage MS Outlook client with back-end Microsoft Exchange Server, MS Office suite, telephony, and broadband Internet access.

  • Plan and deploy upgrades to Microsoft Windows XP, Windows 2000 Server, Windows 2003 Server, Windows 2008 Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft Exchange 2007/Exchange 2010 Server.

  • Design and configure virtual machines and networks for use as both production and test servers, with the ability to setup isolated test labs and networks for software testing.

  • Maximize network availability and throughput via non-stop configuration, efficient network infrastructure, and automated server monitoring.

  • Automate routine tasks through the use of scripting to simplify server management and maintenance.

  • Support of Microsoft SQL Server environment to ensure maximum server and customer database availability.

  • Manage the growth and design of a Microsoft SharePoint intranet portal, while performing unique customizations to fit the various sites to business requirements.

  • Act as a technical resource to assist customer support as 2nd level support, and assist customers with the installation of the HMIS web application.

  • Produce accurate documentation of the environment as it grows.

Requirements:


  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills and communications skills, and the knowledge to come up with quick workarounds to network problems. Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) certification preferred.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server 2000, 2005 and 2008, and TSQL.

  • Ability to resolve application issues such as PC program configuration issues, host system trouble, data service problems, and connectivity issues.

  • Experience with remote server monitoring utilities and remote troubleshooting methodologies.

  • Experience working with Microsoft and VMware virtualization products and platforms desirable.

  • Experience with Cisco networking equipment.

  • Work with users requires good interpersonal skills. This is normally acquired through a combination of a minimum Associates Degree and five to ten years of networking experience.

  • Ability to respond to off-hour technical emergencies while on extended station.

  • Ability to lift, carry, and rearrange all parts of user workstations, network hardware, and peripherals.
